Celebrating Seniors!

It’s hard to believe that at the age of 7 our dogs and cats are considered seniors and as they enter their golden years they often begin to develop issues with their weight, appetite, behaviour, mobility, skin and coat. Pets tolerate and hide pain well, so owners may not be aware they are suffering until serious physical symptoms develop.

Routine senior wellness testing for common conditions with blood work and a urine test can help us uncover medical conditions at an early stage when it is easier to treat. This is why regular medical checkups are essential!

Senior Pet Assessment:

Does your pet dribble urine when laying down, sleeping or barking?

Does your pet have difficulty jumping on furniture or bed?

Have you noticed any weight gain or weight loss?

Does your pet have bad breath or red and swollen gums?

Have you noticed an increase or decrease in appetite?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above, your pet may already be displaying symptoms of senior health concerns.

Book an appointment today and during your pets visit our veterinarians can make recommendations to keep your senior pet healthy and active for a longer time!
