Ultrasound and X-ray for Pets

Contact our team to schedule your pet's next visit to the vet.

Diagnostic tests such as ultrasound and X-rays help veterinarians get a closer and more comprehensive look at your pet’s symptoms. These real-time images provide a full-scale view of internal organs that help veterinarians detect and diagnose diseases and illnesses affecting your pet. To learn more about our diagnostic services or to book an appointment, call us at (416) 362-9696.

Does my pet need a sedative to undergo an X-ray?

No sedative is required if your pet is calm, not in pain, and can remain in a comfortable position during the procedure. However, if your pet is edgy and squirmy, they might need a sedative to produce a clear image.

How does an ultrasound work?

A probe is placed against the pet’s skin, and ultrasound waves are bounced off the pet’s inner structures. The echoed images are generated on a screen where the vet can see the internal organs such as the bladder, kidney, and spleen. We also use ultrasound to monitor pregnancies and to diagnose various stages of cancer.

Do you offer dental X-ray services for pets?

Yes, we offer dental radiology for both cats and dogs at our clinic. We use dental radiographs for dental cleaning, analyzing teeth and root decay, evaluating gum disease, and more.
